Key Requirements:

A minimum Level 8 qualification in Structural Engineering or equivalent.

0 to 5 years relevant work experience.

An in-depth understanding of structural behaviour and engineering from first principles.

Preferably Design Experience on building projects (residential, mixed-use developments, industrial and commercial) in the public & private sector to Eurocodes.

Self-motivation and a willingness to learn, adapt and excel.

Proficient in Microsoft Office packages such as Office, Excel and Word.

Must have an understanding of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and Navisworks.

Must be proficient in the use of design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Autodesk Robot, CADS suite of software among others.

Excellent verbal and written (English) communication skills

Preferably driver’s licence and own transport.

Key Responsibilities:

As a member of the Building & Infrastructure Team you will be required to undertake the following duties:

You will be working as part of a project team to carry out designs in accordance with company procedures. You will report directly to the Project Engineer or other senior members of staff.

Preparation and Review of preliminary designs and reports using a variety of computer packages and subsequent preparation of detailed design drawings and specifications.

Management Systems dictate.

Being aware of commercial matters including agreed fees/scope of work/programmes.

Attending design team meetings and liaising with clients and other members of the design team.

Preparation of contract specifications and drawings.

Carrying out site inspections.

Implementing the company’s ISO policies and procedures.

Assist in the Preparation of tenders.

BIM Manager (Dublin or Galway)

A new BIM Manager position has arisen which can be filled in either Dublin or the West of Ireland with one of Ireland's top Consulting Engineering Practices. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an Engineering Practice on a diverse range of projects. 

The BIM Manager’s role is to help deliver the company’s technology strategy and implement BIM as an integral part of the company. The role will involve working across multiple divisions and disciplines to manage and develop a team of Revit and Autodesk Civil 3D technicians. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your technical and management skills, grow your professional network, and provide you with excellent long-term potential to advance your career. The BIM manager will report directly to senior management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing BIM Strategy within the Company.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the technicians across the company comply with our internal BIM policies on all projects during its entire lifecycle from pre-construction, through to handover and in all disciplines – Civil and Structural.
  • Support Clients with preparing the EIR, managing the MIDP where we are the BIM lead on projects or defining the TIDP where we are part of the design team, preparing or assisting external design team members in preparing the BEP.
  • Coordinate with remote design centres to assure compliance with project requirements, company standards, procedures and industry codes.
  • Lead the creation and development of a standardised BIM element library, to support model reuse and a production approach.
  • Assist with a BIM accreditation process and ultimately ensure that as an organisation we achieve BIM accreditation in the short to medium term.
  • Responsible for developing the common data environment platform and processes.
  • Promote the use of BIM coordination meetings and record 3D BIM clashes throughout the project, including generating and distributing reports, action points and owners.
  • Work closely with project lead and provide regular look ahead and progress reports.
  • Train personnel in the use of BIM Tools, Documentation and awareness to assist in the management and delivery of the project.
  • To drive continual improvement is standards and quality of deliveries through BIM software’s such as REVIT, Civil 3D and other software suites.
  • Assist with ensuring a consistent and high quality output for our clients through the use of BIM technologies.
  • Assisting with the production of REVIT models as necessary but this is not the primary function of this role.

Although the role is predominantly managing the BIM process within the company, the suitable candidate will also be required from time to time to carry out project based work and assist in the preparation of Civil and Structural drawings using 3D modelling software including Civils 3D and Revit.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have the following traits but is not restricted to:

  • A relevant third level qualification (level 8 or above desirable) in an appropriate area of expertise.
  • Preferably experience in BIM Development/ implementation within a similar consultancy services practice – Architectural, MEP or Civil and structural.
  • Preferably 5 years’ + experience plus in a similar role and environment.
  • Experience of working in a common data environment platform and managing BIM data throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experience of delivering Autodesk BIM/CAD for water, or wastewater, non-infrastructure and infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of key principles of information management as set out in ISO 19650.
  • Able to collaborate and work effectively within a multidiscipline and diverse team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal (English) communication
  • Experience of adopting to change to working processes and adoption of new technologies.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and be able to work under pressure when required to achieve deadlines

The role will be based in our Galway or Dublin office but will involve managing a team across multiple geographical locations. From time to time the candidate will be required to visit other offices to adequately manage the team of technicians.

BIM Detailer (Dublin)


We are currently recruiting a number of BIM Detailers and Architectural Technologist's on a full-time permanent basis.


We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual a leading Engineering Company with offices in Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, and Germany. They deliver leading-edge next generation solutions to clients by designing, building, and installing Data Centres, Pharma and Medical Device plants and Renewable Energy Systems.


They are rapidly expanding and are looking for candidates to join their BIM team and work on diverse projects across Ireland and abroad. The BIM team is located in the Dublin office (approx. 5 mins walk from the Luas!) and they are looking at hiring 5 - 10 BIM detailers over the next 6 months to manage the demand for BIM on their projects.


Overall Role Objective.


The role of the BIM Detailer is to assist the Project Manager to deliver high quality data enriched models and construction drawings. This also involves assisting the Project Manager in overall project planning, detailed design development and coordination between all disciplines, managing and adhering to office/client BIM standards. We are looking for Mechanical and Electrical BIM detailers.


This role is for projects all over Ireland and abroad but the role will be based in Dublin.

Duties/Responsibilities include:


  • BIM Modelling and creation using Revit, Autocad, Plant3d and FABCAD for both live and tender projects.
  • Monitor modelling for any clashing and update drawings.
  • Produce 2D drawings from Revit/CAD files.
  • 3D coordination of Asset Information Model.
  • Produce images for reports using BIM renders.
  • Contribute to the process of creating as built documentation.
  • Follow document control processes.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager reporting on progress.
  • Attend meetings with Clients as requested.
  • Any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested, necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the Company.


Job / Person Skills required:


  • Suitable Candidate must have a third level degree in Engineering/Construction Management or a minimum of 1 year’s relevant work experience.
  • Experience in design software like Revit or Autocad
  • Knowledge of basic construction processes and procedures.
  • Advanced PC skills, specifically Microsoft Windows Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
  • Ideally -good knowledge of M&E services and HVAC background.
  • Ideally previous experience of producing AutoCAD M&E service drawings.
  • The ability to read, interpret and understand specifications and drawings.
  • Ability to prioritise workload according to deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail.

The team specialise in redefining state-of-the-art computer vision and delivering next-generation advanced driver-assistance and automated driving systems for leading European, American and Asian OEMs.


Position Overview


As a computer vision function owner, you will be expected to understand the capabilities and limitations of your assigned features. You will be required to work with the project team and the customer to agree optimal solutions for the automotive customer. Examples of such vision functions include: pedestrian detection, structure from motion, lane detection, parking slot detection, object detection and classification & scene understanding.


Responsibilities


  • Guide the development of computer vision algorithms(feature) to ensure they meet customer expectations
  • Engage the customer to understand their requirements
  • Inform the customer about the status and the development plan of the feature
  • Work with project managers, software project leads and customer to agree the feature development plan
  • Ensure regular communication with the customer to ensure alignment of expectations and risks for each feature release
  • Work with algorithm project leaders to ensure customer issues and bugs are prioritised appropriately in advance of customer releases and avoid escalations
  • Lead customer workshops to assess feature performance, capture issues and engage the team to propose solutions
  • Work closely with the designated test engineers and be aware of the feature performance in all (automotive) conditions


Required Skills/Experience


  • Bachelors Degree in Software Eng., Computer Science, Physics, Electronic Eng., Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Min 2 years professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Basic computer vision or ADAS system knowledge
